Facts vs. Fiction

Which story are you running?

Framework 4 of 14 from Fix Your Thinking, Fix Your Life.

Why this one

You went straight to what it means. What it says about you. The memory that still hurts like it happened yesterday.

Every painful thing has two parts: what happened, and what you made it mean. A camera could record the first part. You wrote the second, probably a long time ago. Which means you can write it again.

What happened and what you made it mean are two different things. You wrote the meaning. You can rewrite it.
