One line
Jon Levesque is the author of Fix Your Thinking, Fix Your Life and VP of Community & Developer Relations at OutSystems, a high-school dropout who grew Microsoft's Power Platform community to 2.2 million members.
Short
Jon Levesque is a high-school dropout who went from minimum wage to VP of Community & Developer Relations at OutSystems, after growing Microsoft's Power Platform community to 2.2 million members. His first book, Fix Your Thinking, Fix Your Life (Jon Levesque Media, October 20, 2026), gives readers fourteen frameworks for rewriting the story they've been telling themselves since childhood.
Long
Jon Levesque moved eighteen times before he finished school, dropped out, and earned his GED. He started in minimum-wage jobs and spent his twenties surviving: a marriage he said "fine" to at twenty-one, a house the math never supported, a foreclosure. In October 2014, freshly divorced and broke, he spent a night on an aluminum bench in a ferry terminal after missing the last boat home. He calls it the blank page.
What followed is the climb. As Microsoft's Senior Platform Evangelist for Power Platform, he grew the community to 2.2 million members, created the Power Platform Community Conference and mentored more than 130 Microsoft MVPs. He went on to lead community and developer experience at DocuSign as Senior Director, and today he is VP of Community & Developer Relations at OutSystems. He has delivered 25+ international keynotes.
His first book, Fix Your Thinking, Fix Your Life: Same Facts. New Story. Different Life. (Jon Levesque Media, October 20, 2026), is a self-help memoir built on fourteen frameworks for separating what happened to you from the story you wrote about it. He lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Alisha, and their three kids.

Quotes from the book
The bench wasn't rock bottom. The bench was the blank page.
"Fine" is not a yes. It's a slow no to your own life.
Being right is the most expensive thing I've ever owned.
The armor was genius. It's also a cage.
You don't get to choose what was given to you. You absolutely get to choose what you give.
Same facts. New story. Different life.
Talking points: the fourteen frameworks
Each chapter ends with one framework. Any of these can carry a segment. Full essays are on the frameworks page.
Part I · The Code Gets Written Early
- 1
The Stories You're Telling Yourself. The voice in your head isn't truth. It's programming... written by a kid, still running on the adult. You can't rewrite code you've never read.
- 2
The Trap You Built Without Knowing It. Every "fine" tightens the trap. "Fine" is not a yes. It's a slow no to your own life.
- 3
The Complaint You're Married To. The grievance that pays you in righteousness and charges you everything else. Divorce it.
Part II · Strip the Code
- 4
Facts vs. Fiction. What happened and what you made it mean are two different things. You wrote the meaning. You can rewrite it.
- 5
You Decided Before They Spoke. You decided what they meant before they spoke. Catch it red-handed: "What I heard was ___. Is that what you said?"
- 6
Is It Working? Not "could it work someday." Right now, in reality. If the math doesn't math, it's not working.
- 7
Being In My Life Is a Privilege. Access to you gets earned... even by family. Especially by family. Change the locks.
- 8
The Armor That Became a Cage. What protected you then is imprisoning you now. The door has always been unlocked from the inside.
Part III · Rewrite the Code
- 9
Stop Surviving, Play to Win. Survival mode has a ceiling. Stop asking "how do I not lose?" Start asking "how do I win?"
- 10
Let Them In. Community doesn't find you... you build it. Needing people isn't weakness. It might be your superpower.
- 11
Fuck Yes or Fuck No. Commitments require fuck yes. Adventures only require why not. Know which question you're asking.
- 12
Love Has Levels. You might be settling for a 4 because nobody ever showed you a 10. Take the armor off and find out.
Part IV · The Proof
- 13
The Climb. No big leaps. Rungs. Every job, every risk, every ask is a parlay to the next one.
- 14
The Cycle Breaking. You don't have to pass down everything you were handed. Keep the gold. Refuse the rest. What you refuse to pass on ends with you.
Suggested interview questions
- You open the book on a ferry terminal bench at 3am. What happened that night, and why do you call it a blank page instead of rock bottom?
- You're a high school dropout with a GED who became a VP. What did you have to unlearn to get there?
- The book says the voice in your head is code written by a kid. What does that mean, and how does someone catch theirs running?
- What is "the complaint you're married to," and why do people hold on to grievances that are costing them?
- You say "fine" is one of the most dangerous words in your vocabulary. Why?
- "Is it working?" is a simple question. How do you use it on something you can't walk away from?
- You spent years believing "I don't need anyone," then built communities millions strong. How did that happen?
- What does breaking a generational cycle actually look like on an ordinary Tuesday?
